Day 1: Private Transfer San Jose Intl. Airport - Peace Lodge

Arrive at the San Jose International Airport. Upon clearing immigration and customs, exit the airport and meet your driver who will be waiting for you. Enjoy the hour ride through one of the country’s prime coffee plantation regions, also known for its strawberry and ornamental plant production. Nestled amidst the La Paz Waterfall Gardens Park in the northern mountains of the Central Valley, the Peace Lodge is one of the country’s top spots. Arrive and check into a Standard room at Peace Lodge.

The Standard Room: this 650 square foot room has a king size canopy bed viewing a grand gas fireplace. The interior design of the room is only surpassed by the view of the La Paz River Valley and the Poas Volcano from the balcony. The best way to enjoy the view is from the Jacuzzi tub or swaying in the hammock on the balcony. The bathroom has an oversized mosaic tiled tub and elaborate waterfall shower. There is also satellite TV, a stereo system, refrigerator, and coffee maker.

Day 2: Private Transfer Peace Lodge – La Fortuna/Arenal

Check out of the hotel and board the van for your 3½ hour private transfer to the Arenal Region. Enjoy this beautiful drive down the mountains of the Central Valley then down towards the flatlands of San Carlos. Arrive and check into a Junior Suite at Mountain Paradise Hotel.

Day 3: Combination Tour

At a time TBD, start your Combination Tour with Hanging Bridges. Start with a visit to the Hanging Bridges of Arenal , a hiking trip through the tropical humid forest of 3 kilometers passing 15 bridges from 5 to 100 meters long and up to 60 meters high; an expectacular scenery to see birds, reptiles, mammals and insects. The next stop is at La Fortuna Waterfall. This waterfall has a huge swimming hole with large rocks nearby, perfect for a rest after and invigorating swim. Then a drive back to town to have lunch. About 3:00 p.m you will start the tour to the volcano. It is a hiking trip through the tropical humid forest for about 45 minutes to get to the lava flow from 1992. You will see a great variety of plants, wildlife, the magnificence of Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake. Watch the sunset as you await darkness to see and hear the glowing rocks of lava tumbling down the side of the mountain. A full active day! Then, put on your bathing suit again to relax in the thermal waters of Tabacon Resort for a few hours and have dinner there. Included: All transportation, entrance fees, naturalist guide, lunch, dinner, cold drinks and equipment. What to bring: light clothes, running shoes or hiking shoes, insect repellent, swinsuit.

Day 4: Lake Crossing Arenal - Monteverde (Van,Boat,Van)

At a time TBD, our driver will pick you up for the adventurous journey to Monteverde. After a 15 minute transfer to the lake shores, you will embark on a 30 minute boat ride across Arenal Lake followed by a 2 hour drive up the picturesque mountains. This challenging road will take you from an altitude of 900 meters above sea level (approximately 2700 ft) to the Cloud Forest at 1440 meters (approximately 4662 feet). Marvel at the changes in vegetation and climate as you ascend to Monteverde. Check into a Deluxe room at El Establo Mountain Hotel.

Day 5: Sky Tram & Sky Trek Tour

At a time TBD the Sky Adventure staff will pick you up to drive you to the Sky Trek Park. The tour starts with a 30 minute ride on the cableway, where you will have a different perspective of the flora and fauna. The Sky Tram ends on a wide observation platform, where you will begin the Sky Trek one of the top canopy tours in the country. Experience the thrill of zip lining through the canopy of the Cloud Forest, truly a great way to experience the rain forest and a real adrenaline rush! Upon conclusion, return to the hotel to spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Included: entrance fee, guide and equipment. What to bring: Long pants or shorts, T-shirts, hiking shoes or sneakers and insect repellent.

Day 6: Private Transfer Monteverde - Punta Islita

At a time TBD check out of the hotel and start the 4 hour drive down the mountains towards the Pacific coast. Arrive in the Interamerican Road and veer north (right) towards Liberia. Cross Tilaran and Canas and merge into the Interamerican Highway. Head west over the Palo Verde River into the heart of Guanacaste. Pass various small towns until you reach Punta Islita. Arrive into the hotel Hotel Punta Islita. Check into a Deluxe room at Punta Islita Hotel (free upgrade to a Suite).Take the rest of the day to enjoy the resort and to book your activities and spa treatments.
